Newly appointed Mogalakwena Mayor excited to turn the municipality around

Frans Mokwele was inaugurated as the new mayor at a virtual council meeting held today.

LIMPOPO – Mokwele’s appointment follows the resignation of former mayor, Andrina Matsemela, on 1 February.

She will be redeployed to the Waterberg District. Mokwele is positive that he can turn the Mogalakwena Municipality, which faced various controversies in the past few years, around.

During the virtual meeting, the Municipal Manager, Beverly Gunqiza, announced that Pheladi Olifant will replace councillor Sameul Mathebula as speaker.

Mathebula resigned from council. It was also announced that Malesela Abram Tsebe is the newly appointed chief whip.
