Christina reaches her goals as a woman

Limpopo Netball Association president Christina Shikwambana finds joy in assisting young aspiring netball players in the province.

POLOKWANE – Christina Shikwambana has clear goals for herself, both as a woman and the president of Limpopo Netball Association.

Shikwambana became president in October last year and says she and her team find joy in assisting young aspiring netball players in the province to achieve their goals.

She adds that over the past few years they have managed to develop players from rural areas in the province who boast with provincial and national colours.

“We have 25 players who are part of the provincial netball setup,” she added.

Shikwambana, who is a teacher by profession, said although she has not experienced challenges in her position because she is a woman, she has had to overcome other challenges.

Some of the challenges she has had to deal with was that of time management.

Shikwambana feels a day such as Women’s Day is important to create awareness of the important roles women play in the society.

“I hope my position in netball will inspire other woman to work hard and not allow their challenges to stand in their way,” she explained.
