Police bid farewell to respected colleague

The police have confirmed the passing of Sgt Mabeba Ramoba, who served as a sector commander at the Polokwane Police Station.

POLOKWANE – Police Spokesperson Brig Motlafela Mojapelo said the news of Ramoba’s passing was received on Monday.

“He was one of the most hardworking, energetic and disciplined members at Polokwane police. What made him stand out is that besides having a good relationship with his colleagues in the workplace, he also cemented a strong relationship with various stakeholders such as our colleagues at various departments including justice and community safety, business people, taxi associations, and hawkers.”

Mojapelo further describes him as a “noble cop with a big heart and a man who possessed great talents and skills”.

Ramoba was a multilingual peace officer and his conversations were always full to the brim with jokes and followed by laughter.

“We used to call him a counsellor because of his ability to accommodate everyone. A tree has fallen and we are all very devastated by his departure from this challenging planet. He will be missed by his family, colleagues and the community that he served with patriotism, pride and prestige and passion. Rest well, councillor.”

Ali Salman, spokesperson for the Central Business District Business Association Ramoba’s passing is a loss in the community as he was a frontliner in the fight against crime.

“We pray that his soul rest in peace and are willing to assist if anything needed by his family in order to comfort them during this difficult time.”

Frans Kgasago, spokesperson for the Mankweng Taxi Association says a soldier has fallen in the form of a dedicated police officer who has left a vacuum in his absence. “Our condolences to family during these trying times. We pray that they are reminded that God is always great even during difficult times. May his soul rest in perfect peace and will always remember his hard work.”
