Variety at all-in-one flea market
Entrepreneurs and business people made use of the opportunity to display and sell their products at the flea market at Flora Park Centre last Saturday.
POLOKWANE – The market was a success with various food, clothes, shoes, bags and accessories available. The outdoor market vendors sold old and used goods, homemade food products as well as handmade wire crafts.
Owner of Rika se Kombuis, Rika Schutte makes and sells bottled jam, curry onions, chutney, chili sauce, curried cabbage, beans, packaged biscuits and rusks. “I’ve been coming to this flea market for quite some time now and it is a very good opportunity for us because we can sell our products to more clients than before,” Rika said.
Noreen van der Linde who is the owner of Nora’s Kitchen and makes sweet bites and baked products. She said she appreciates such opportunities as it also gives her business more clientele. “When people come here to do grocery shopping, they spot our products and some cannot resist it and buy, especially children when they see sweet bites. Which is why I believe that flea markets are a very good idea of displaying and selling your products faster and quicker,” she said.
Business woman Mudzhedzi Mukwevho said flea markets are a great source to earn an extra income. “I believe that most of us here have jobs during the week and we appreciate the opportunity to exhibit out products in order to earn extra money,” she said.
