Eskom to sort out problems at Dalmada Purification Plant

Areas in Polokwane are experiencing water shortages due to problems at the plant.

POLOKWANE – The power utility Eskom’s team is replacing a transformer at the Dalmada Purification Plant.

Municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala said in a statement that areas such as Bendor, Flora Park and some parts of the city are experiencing water supply shortages as a result.

“The Polokwane Municipality will provide temporary relief of water supply through water tankers to areas experiencing water shortages. Water supply will be restored once the Eskom team has completed their work,” Selala explained.

He urged residents with water supply to use it sparingly.

“Water challenges such as supply shortage, pipe bursts and leaks, leaking water
meters and open hydrants can be reported to the Municipal Water and Sanitation helpline on 015 023 5376 / 015 023 5629,” he concluded.
