A Festive Season message from the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture MEC, Thandi Moraka:
“The Festive Season reminds us of the ideals and virtues of service to humanity. Our commitment to improve the lives of citizens for the better is embodied in the Christmas spirit. It is a period that fills our souls with gratitude for many blessings in our lives. Christmas is a time to rejoice and reflect.
“We are, however, faced with the Covid-19 pandemic since and the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture is the most affected by this pandemic. Our artists and athletes have struggled to generate an income and showcase their talent due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We are, however, reminded to spread messages of awareness about the pandemic.
“Let us continue to wear our masks at all times, sanitise, keep a social distance and most importantly vaccinate to help contain the pandemic.
“We are delighted to extend seasons’ greetings to all of the stakeholders, friends, associates and social partners for your commitment to ensure the department continues to provide quality basic services.
“I would also like to extend my gratitude to our staff, management, artists, and athletes for their support in 2021. Your support during the year helped us on the journey to fulfill our mission to provide innovative and quality basic services.
“I wish each and every one of you and your families a blessed Christmas and I further wish all of you a renewed sense of hope, confidence and courage as we welcome a new year.
“May God bless you all.”
