[DEBUNKED] Message fuels fake news

A WhatsApp message is doing the rounds claiming that filling stations will be closed tomorrow (March 11) and that residents should fill up.

POLOKWANE – A voice note is currently being circulated on WhatsApp in which a lady claims filling stations will be closed from tomorrow (March 11).

The lady claims to have received confirmation from workers at her filling station. She further claimed that it will be a “national shutdown”.

Meanwhile, local economist Baneng Nape says residents will feel the impact of the ongoing conflict in the Ukraine, especially on the price of fuel.
