Limpopo’s next millionaire sought

A Limpopo resident is the winner of R55m in the PowerBall draw of March 11.

POLOKWANE – Did you purchase a lottery ticket for the PowerBall draw on Friday (March 11)?

If you did and you are a Limpopo resident, then you might be a millionaire.

Corporate affairs specialist for the national lottery operator, Ithuba, Lebogang Mokoena said the search is on for the winner of Friday’s R55m jackpot.

“The ticket was played via the quick-pick selection with a wager of R15, on draw number 1283, which took place at 21:00 on Friday. Players are urged to check their tickets and to approach Ithuba’s Polokwane regional office to claim their winnings,” Mokoena explained.

He added that a team of financial advisors and psychologists are available to offer financial advice and trauma counselling to the winner, at no cost to them.

“While we congratulate our latest winner, we are also excited about the PowerBall PLUS rollover jackpot which stands at an estimated R68m,” added Ithuba CEO Charmaine Mabuza.

Lottery winners in Limpopo are not a scarce commodity. In September last year, a 59-year-old man won R7m after he purchased a R40 ticket at a local SPAR.

Less than two months later, Ithuba searched for a R50m PowerBall PLUS winner with the winning ticket purchased at a Caltex filling station in Limpopo.
