‘Mathemagician’ aims to impact local communities through extra lessons
Khuliso Muthige (35) started the Mathemagician Academy outside Thohoyandou and offers extra classes for learners in Gr 1-12, with college and university students also welcome.
LIMPOPO – Mathematician Khuliso Stanley Muthige (35) is a serial entrepreneur with 10 years of experience in engineering and business.
Muthige hails from the Makwarela Township near Sibasa and matriculated in 2005 from Almighty Learning Centre in Thohoyandou Golgotha, after which he went on to study mechanical engineering at Cape Peninsula University of Technology Bellville Campus.

He is the founder of MKS, which invests in various business sectors including education and online learning for which he launched a project in his company called Mathemagician Academy.
Muthige said Mathemagician Academy is an institution based in Tshilivho-Hamakhuvha, just outside Thohoyandou along the Punda Maria Road.
“The Mathemagician Academy offers extra classes for learners in Grade 1-12, college and university students are also welcome. The academy has free and uncapped Wi-Fi for learners to access the internet and local youth from villages around such as Ha-Dumasi and Ha-Makhuvha come to the academy to enjoy and experience free connectivity,” Muthige explained.
He told CV he has big ambitions and plans to work on content creation and the digitisation of textbooks, so that the books can be simplified into videos students can access online and in vernacular.
“We also welcome students who live with disability who want to experience live projects. In addition to everyting, we offer agricultural projects and braille courses for blind learners,” he added.
Muthige said that, with his academy, he aims to impact local communities and eventually learners all over the province and country while creating sustainable employment and helping to fight poverty and unemployment.
