Jesse-Marlon advocates minimalism for the modern man
Creative director and brand owner of JMLuxury, Jesse-Marlon Andreas (25) expressed that fashion is loved all around the world, as one can reinvent, express, create and stand out from the rest of the crowd.
POLOKWANE – Passionate about fashion, Andreas is a fashion design graduate from Stadio School of Fashion in Pretoria, formerly known as LISOF.
“I thoroughly enjoyed conceptualising since I was a teenager,” he said.
JMLuxury was established this year and Andreas told BONUS that the brand is not just a clothing brand but an undefinable experience through time and space. “The name JMLuxury is the initials which my parents blessed me with and furthermore the name stems from the good quality of the relationships I keep, and that is communicated in each and every aspect of my journey. I believe it is imperative to live quality life-led experiences and I strongly believe that JMLuxury brand incapsulates that,” he said.

Andreas has worked for big names such as well-known South African fashion designer David Tlale. “I have interned at the studios situated in Marshalltown and I was involved in styling and the creative process. I’ve been inspired by the perseverance of it and that’s when I got even more motivated to establish my own business this year. I decided to launch the athleisure wear for the modern man and woman. My primary and main interest lies in haute couture and high fashion runway designs,” he said.
He believes he’s a minimalist which is the signature for his brand and will be looking at the variation of colour in the long run for the edgy market.
“Being a sole proprietor one needs to be hands on, involved in every process and aspect of the line, the choice of fabric, production of garments, as well the final touches can be demanding. It takes a lot for the final product to be consumer ready which can be challenging. But I believe it will hopefully get better once the business grows and I’m able to take on assistance,” he said.
Aside from his company, Andreas is also a model, freelance photographer, an image and design consultant to promote upcoming business brands as a way of being involved and taking interest in the design industry.
