Young mom receives building material from PMWF

POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Muslim Welfare Foundation (PMWF) donated building material to a young mom in Juju Valley after her shack was destroyed by a fire.

The mom of two explained she was at a loss for words and had no idea what to do next, luckily her plight was heard by the PMF with the assistance of the ward 13 committee.

Abdinasir Aden Mohamed, the field officer for PMWF said they were notified about the family in distress and decided to take action. “This is a single mom of two; we had to assist them promptly. Our aim as the foundation is to help all humans regardless of race, gender or religion,” he explained.

Speaking in front of her newly built shack, Legodi thanked the PMWF for their donation and giving her a shelter again. “They not only built me a new home, but they donated food parcels and blankets as soon as they learned about my situation and for that, I will forever be grateful,” she said.

Ajao Leballo, the ward 13 councillor thanked the PMWF for always being ready and willing to lend a hand to the community when they are approached. “They have been with us for the past two years and are always quick to respond to the needs of our community.

“Their constant availability to help us has makes them an important part of our community,” he said.

The deputy chairperson of Economic Freedom Fighters in ward 13, Shorty Chuene, said it is important as leaders in the community to assist where there is a need.

He requested that the Polokwane Municipality hear their pleas for RDP housing because with the winter season approaching, fires will be prevalent.
