Netball Association wants more Lim players in Telkom cup

Rose Mamabolo, deputy chairperson of the association says she would like to see players being part of the history.

POLOKWANE – Polokwane Netball Association is eager to have strong representation in the Baobabs and Lillies netball teams that will compete at the Telkom Netball League which will commence in April.

The Baobabs were crowned the champions of the Telkom Netball League division two after thrashing the Western Cape Tornados 65-40 in the finals while the Lillies, who were making a debut in the league, made a good impression.

It was the first title for Limpopo Baobabs since their inception decades ago.

Rose Mamabolo, deputy chairperson of the association, would love to see more of their players included in both the Baobabs and Lillies netball teams for the Telkom Netball League.

“Most of our players are in trials at both teams and we would like to see our players being part of the history.

“We have players in Kubura Abubakar who has been in scintillating form and represented the country on numerous occasions, and Julia Sekwakwa and Magoshi Mogashoa who are doing well in the Polokwane Netball Association league.

“We are hoping they will be part of the Lillies and Baobabs netball teams when the final team is announced.”

Once the league starts in April, the Baobabs and Lillies will be travelling to Kimberley for their opening matches.
