Mpho Moretsele the chairperson of the confederation said they will be reaching out to other schools in the Capricorn region.

POLOKWANE – The Capricorn District Sport Confederation launched an aerobics team at Greenside Primary School on March 1.

The school has been doing well in various local netball, soccer, athletics events and has produced South Africa’s young baseball pitcher, Matsobane Maeta who represented the country at the World Baseball Softball Confederation’s Youth Baseball World Championship’s sixth edition in Tainan, Taiwan in 2022.

Maeta also represented his team Botlokwa Trailblazers at the Limpopo Baseball u/14 finals last year.

“We also went there to have coaching clinics and encourage them to focus on their sport activities as well as academic activities. We also launched an aerobics team in the school and most of the learners were eager to participate in the activities.”

He said they will be reaching out to other schools in the Capricorn region. “We will be going to other schools in Polokwane, Botlokwa and Mankweng. Part of our message is sport involvement. We want to see more learners participating in sport and being involved in sport.”
