LIMPOPO – A pedestrian was hit by a truck and seriously injured in a collision near the Khoroni Hotel in Thohoyandou on Thursday evening (November 10).
The Department of Transport and Community Safety’s spokesperson Mafenya Lediga said the truck collided head on with an oncoming taxi and sedan around 18:00.
“According to information gathered by traffic officials, the truck overturned and hit a pedestrian who sustained serious injuries. The truck driver was also injured and a passenger from the light motor vehicle sustained minor injuries,” a statement read.
Lediga said the accident report states the possible cause of the collision was the truck’s mechanical problems and brake failure.
