The 25-year-old sportsman, who is a winger at Noordelikes Rugby Club, won the two prestigious accolades at the club’s year-end function and awards ceremony held on November 2.
Romijn described Mphahlele as one of the dedicated players in the club and a good coach to aspiring rugby players at the school.
“His commitment to rugby is unmatched. He was injured but he was able to recover and go back to the field to play. He showed the character of someone who is willing to play and achieve their goals. He is liked by the players, coaches, his friends and learners who play rugby at the school. He is always positive and his success will rub off well on the aspiring rugby players at the school.”
Mphahlele said he is happy to have won the awards.
