PEPPS take a stand against bullying
The school's counselor, Minky Masote explained that it is also important to raise awareness on anti-bullying as a school because it sends a clear message to the learners and staff that if they ever find themselves bullied in any manner, the school will support them.
POLOKWANE – PEPPS added its voice to the awareness against bullying, a pandemic that has a rippling effect on young and old in schools and the workplace on February 28.
The school’s counselor, Minky Masote explained that it is also important to raise awareness on anti-bullying as a school because it sends a clear message to the learners and staff that if they ever find themselves bullied in any manner, the school will support them.
“We also promote that everyone needs to speak up in order for the school to intervene. Children who are bullied generally keep to themselves and if they don’t receive help at a younger age, later in life they may struggle with self esteem, confidence and sometimes become bullies later in life,” she said.
She added that there’s a general stereotype that only children can be bullied whereas adults can be bullied as well, in workplaces, at home, online and in the communities they stay in.
