POLOKWANE – The THS Tom Naudé community is in mourning following the death of the school’s former principal Piet Holtzhausen.
Holtzhausen died on Saturday morning (March 11) after a battle with cancer.
Loved by staff and learners, the school said he always made time for important things such as rugby, braai and his family.
Holtzhausen was part of the Tommie family for a while, having progressed from a teacher, to head of department, deputy principal and eventually principal in 2016.
On January 20, he specially drove to Potgietersrus to support the Tommies during an athletics meet at Hoërskool Piet Potgieter. It was touching to see how many children came to greet him by the hand and how proud he was of our athletes,” a tribute on the school’s Facebook page read.
Holtzhausen is survived by his wife Ansie, their three children and grandchildren
“May the beautiful memories that everyone has of him carry you in the days that follow. Tommies salute you and we will miss you,” the school said.
