Mankweng school’s science centre gets much needed equipment
The donation to Motse Maria Girls High School ensures that there are interactive screens for the young minds to explore the world of information that exists on the internet.
POLOKWANE – Motse Maria Girls High School learners in Mankweng benefitted from the Bolt and Chelo App when they donated technical equipment for their technology laboratories during a recent E-learning project.
The donation to the school ensures that there are interactive screens for the young minds to explore the world of information that exists on the internet.
Bolt acknowledges its responsibility to empower the youth with much-needed knowledge and tools to expand their career paths. One of the company’s efforts is to support young women in South Africa and across Africa who may be interested in the technology sector.
Bolt, regional manager of East and Southern Africa, Takura Malaba, said as a technology company, they believe in empowering young people, especially women, to open them up to the possibilities in the tech space.
“We are excited to make a difference in our communities as part of our commitment to invest in the African continent. While our vision has always been to support the creation and building of cities for people, and not cars, we see this extending even further to contribute to local communities by bringing technology to them to improve their lives.”
Motse Maria Girls High School principal, Makgabo Ledwaba said she is humbled by Bolt’s and Chelo’s gesture to revamp the science centre.

“As a girls’ school, we are passionate about empowering our future female leaders and we believe this will encourage them to seek opportunities in the tech field.”
Chelo App founder Maker Khalo said he is thrilled to have partnered with Bolt to be able to equip young learners with e-learning facilities and renovate their science lab to amplify learning in their education space.
“With this collaboration, we hope to encourage other sponsors, and benefactors to join in on the movement, to brighten the path for our future leaders,” he said.
