Masingita is in the business of making brides’ dreams come true
Masingita Shabangu founded her bridal boutique in 2019 because she says she identified a need for high quality wedding dresses in the province.

POLOKWANE – “For most women, a wedding gown represents far more than just a dress. It is also the embodiment of a dream.”
Masingita Shabangu is in the business of making a bride’s dream come true when it comes to finding the perfect wedding dress. She is a wife, a mother, an ordained pastor and the director of Selah Bridal and Selah Fine Fragrance.
Shabangu founded her bridal boutique in 2019 and has not looked back since. She explained that she has always been an entrepreneur at heart, even at a young age, she always knew this. She explained that she chose the bridal industry because she identified a need for high quality wedding dresses in the province.
“People had to travel to places like Gauteng to find stylish and trendy wedding dresses. My aim was to bridge that gap by providing high quality, elegant wedding dresses to suit every preference, style, body type and budget. Brides want a one-stop shop where they will find everything, they need to complete their look. We now provide that solution to brides in Limpopo, Mpumalanga and even beyond the borders of South Africa,” she said.

Shabangu added that she wanted to create a brand that does not just sell wedding dresses but also assists in creating purposeful and successful marriages hence we organise marriage seminars and couples date nights called ‘Life, Love and Marriage Seminars ‘.
She founded Bride of the Year Limpopo last year. She observed the effort that couples put in towards the success of their wedding celebration and had a desire for the couples to celebrate their weddings even long after the wedding date.
“I wanted to create something positive for the brides and brides-to-be to have something exciting to look forward to. I wanted a platform where wedding vendors can also showcase their services through their clients,” she said.
Shabangu added that being a businessperson, she had to be innovative, especially as a new comer in an existing market. She added that going into business requires boldness to start. “People are sitting with brilliant ideas which won’t materialise because of the fear of starting,” she said.
