Young entrepreneurs encouraged to apply for National Youth Fund

Provincial representative and youth director in the Office of the Premier Mpho Sebola encouraged the youth to take advantage of this opportunity and apply for funding in numbers.

POLOKWANE – The Limpopo provincial government in partnership with the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) activated R10m worth of funding during the launch of the National Youth Fund (NYF) on March 16 at Jack Botes Hall.

The fund aims to empower the youth with business ideas and those that are already in business.

Provincial representative and youth director in the Office of the Premier Mpho Sebola encouraged the youth to take advantage of this opportunity and apply for funding in numbers.

“I will be glad to receive applications from youth in rural areas as this can be an opportunity to develop your area and that of your peers by creating jobs,” Sebola said.

The MEC for Provincial Treasury Seaparo Sekoati delivered a speech on behalf of the Premier Chupu Mathabatha and encouraged aspiring entrepreneurs to utilise the funds available.

“We encourage the supported youth owned entities to utilise the funds to upscale their businesses and to support new ideas. We further urge the youth to push the boundaries of creativity and innovation by developing and designing products and services that will support government initiatives such as Special Economic Zones.”

Applications can be accessed on the Office of the Premier website portal and those who do not have access to internet can call Mr Sebola on 082 613 1143 or visit any NYDA office or local municipality to be assisted.
