Limpopo woman’s decomposed body found in bush
Brenda Mulaudzi was last seen with her boyfriend, and her family had been looking for her for more than a month before her body was discovered.
LIMPOPO – The decomposed body, believed to be that of Brenda Mulaudzi (24) was found in a bush near Matshavhawe village on March 16.
Mulaudzi was last seen with her boyfriend, and her family had been looking for her for more than a month before her body was discovered by residents who were collecting firewood.
Provincial police spokesperson Brig Motlafela Mojapelo said that they were alerted by members of the community who discovered Mulaudzi’s decomposed body.
“When police arrived at the scene, the body was lying on the ground and a plastic bag with clothes was found next to it,” he said.
The results of the postmortem and DNA tests were not yet available at the time of going to press.

Mojapelo said that Mulaudzi’s boyfriend had been brought in for questioning but was later released. Investigations continue.
The local community accuses the police of not doing enough, even after they were given leads and the name of the suspect in the case.
The brother of the deceased, Mashudu Mulaudzi, said the family had received a call on March 16 about the discovered body.
“We went to the scene and what we saw was shocking and heartbreaking. We identified her by her clothes, even though her body was decomposed. My sister had been missing for a month and a half, and we were still trying to figure out what could have happened to her when we received the bad news. We contacted her friends, but nobody had seen her, and that was when we decided to report her as missing.”
He said the information they received regarding his sister’s death was that she had been killed and that ‘her body was discarded in the bush like a dead dog’. All we want is to see that justice is served.
“We want them to explain to us why they killed her. That will give us closure and a bit of acceptance. We are not happy that no arrests have been made so far. We gave the police the name of the suspect and, had they listened to us, this mess would not have happened. Now we are still waiting for the DNA and postmortem results before we can bury her,” he said.
