Sky is the limit for skincare entrepreneur
Phumudzo Khadambi, founder of Phumukie Skin Care, says success is not about luck but rather, one's attitude.
LIMPOPO- In an effort to fight unemployment, a young lady from Nzhelele Tshavhalovhedzi village started Phumukie Skin Care.
Phumukie Skin Care helps to repair damaged skin, gives glowing skin, helps to clear stretch marks, clear black spots and acne, makes skin moist and smooth, and reduces skin oil.
Growing up, Phumudzo Khadambi first started selling achaar and eggs as a means of survival.
Business was good and she realised that she might have a future in business.
The 29-year-old said even though she grew up with limited resources, she realised that the sky is the limit.
“To raise finances was not easy. As a young woman, I realised that I should start my own business to create employment for young people in my village. My dream is to produce more skincare products so that I can supply retailers,” she said.
She is looking forward to growing her business, she told CV.
“Even though I have a passion for working with skincare and having my own business, running a skin care business is not easy and requires patience and passion. It is important to set goals for yourself and your business and to pace yourself. Even successful and happy people set measurable goals for themselves,” she said.
Asked about the challenges she faces in running the business, a great challenge is that young people are not serious about work.
“Many youths spend their time abusing alcohol and other substances. I decided to start a business that will keep them busy as I believe they should not rely on government alone.”
Her advice to up-and-coming entrepreneurs?
“Use everything around you to realise your dreams. It is not about luck, it is all about your attitude.”
