Limpopo woman who owned bogus nursing college gets bail
Salome Judith Ngwana has evaded the law for more than six years, but was arrested on March 10 as she arrived at OR Tambo International Airport on a flight from Zimbabwe.
LIMPOPO – Salome Judith Ngwana (54), the owner of a bogus nursing college who faces over 90 counts of fraud for defrauding nursing students, was granted bail of R15 000 by the Louis Trichardt Magistrate’s Court on April 19.
Ngwana has evaded the law for more than six years, but was arrested on March 10 as she arrived at OR Tambo International Airport on a flight from Zimbabwe.
She was arrested by Makhado detectives after a tip-off and now faces 13 charges in Louis Trichardt, 40 cases in Thohoyandou and 43 at Morebeng.

In granting bail, magistrate Bennie Smith remarked that Ngwana was being released on condition that she reports to the Midrand SAPS every Monday between 06:00 and 20:00, hands over her passport to the state and informs the investigating officer when she wants to leave South Africa for business.
The case was postponed to June 30.
Speaking for the National Prosecuting Authority, Mashudu Malabi Dzhangi said Ngwana ran unregistered nursing colleges in Botlokwa, Morebeng, Waterval and Thohoyandou where students registered.
“Upon completion of the course, the victims were left empty-handed.” Malabi said Ngwana currently lives in Fourways in Gauteng, where she employs 12 people.
