Cabfy to provide reliable transport services in Polokwane

Cabfy, the brainchild of Thereso Maja and Katlego Lesetja, is a recently launched e-hailing service that is in touch with the needs of it's commuters.

POLOKWANE – Cabfy provides reliable services for all your transport needs.

Founded by Thereso Maja and Katlego Lesetja, Cabfy is set to the next big e-hailing service.

Cabfy, not to be mistaken with Cabify recently launched and the aim was to create a platform that is in touch with the needs of commuters.

They identified a gap where there was a need for more advanced methods of transport.

Top on the priority list when creating the app was security for both drivers and clients.

“To sign up for the app, we require people to provide a photo of themselves holding their ID document, among other safety measures that we can’t disclose at the moment,” explained Maja who is a former driver for a major e-hailing company.

They added that because of an understanding of the day-to-day running of the e-hailing industry, one of the first things that they did when they started to put together the service was to meet with the local e-hailing transport drivers to start their partnership on a good note.

It was a result of those meetings that they were able to come up with working conditions that would be suitable to both the clients and the drivers.

“Unlike the big corporates, we listen to the drivers’ needs and they will receive benefits, just as with any fair work environment,” said Lesetja.

Lesetja added that they did not have funding, and had to dig into their own pockets.

“It has not been easy, we have used our savings and sold our properties just to get funding. That is how passionate we are about the business.”

Although operating, the app is still under development as they continue to introduce more features that set it apart from its competitors.

Currently within the app, they also offer Cabfy Freight which links the public with bakkie owners for transport.

“It will give people with bakkies a chance to make money transporting goods for customers. We also have trucking services, delivering parcels anywhere from a ton to 32 tonnes,” said Maja.

Cabfy can be downloaded on the Playstore and Applestore.
