Polokwane mom wins R100k on Pick n Pay app
When Jacoline Kruger placed an order for essentials on the Pick n Pay ASAP app, she could not have fathomed that she was about to strike it lucky.
POLOKWANE – A mother from Flora Park will fulfill her five-year-old daughter’s dream of visiting the ocean, after she won R100 000 in Pick n Pay’s, ‘Find the bunny, get the money!’ promotion.
When Jacoline Kruger placed an order for milk, bread and juice on the Pick n Pay asap! on-demand app, she could not have fathomed that she was about to strike it lucky.
She explained that because of the school holiday, she was reluctant to make a trip to the shop to buy the necessities she needed with her children in tow and so decided to use the app because it is convenient and offers coupons.
The stay-at-home mom of the five-year-old Annelien and three-year-old Albie shared that she’d seen the Easter campaign advertised but said she never expected to win.
Finding the crocheted bunny in her package was exciting.
“Opening my groceries, I saw the bunny, and thought cute, the kids can play with it. Then I saw the leaflet which says- ‘you are a winner’. When I called my husband Stefan, he didn’t believe me until I sent him screenshots of the campaign and a photo of the leaflet,” she said.
With the money, she will pay off some debt and take her family on a weekend getaway to Amanzimtoti, fulfilling her daughter’s dream of going to the beach for the first time.
“My children have never seen the ocean and Annelien has been begging to go to the beach, but financially it just wasn’t possible. I’ve been praying about it and Pick n Pay has answered my prayers. She is very excited to be going to build sandcastles and play in the sand,” Kruger said.
