Rhemtula, Ghood and Mohamed matriculated in 2022 and were part of the group that achieved 100% pass rate.

NMS principal Takura Warinda said the three students had great future prospects.

“They were passionate about life and eager for success. We are devastated they were still young and had a lot to offer. We will remember them. Our heartfelt condolences go to their families and friends,” he told the Polokwane Observer.

A crowdfund has been started for the trio in which a waterwell will be set up in their name that will provide water to a remote village in either Malawi and Mozambique.

The project is headed by the Africa Muslims Agency.

“A waterwell is a simple bucket and rope system, yet it provides so many benefits to a community that would otherwise have to trek far distances to obtain this bare essential of every living thing,” their website states.

The trio as well as Chaya were buried on Sunday night according to Muslim practices.
