Seshego teen (16) allegedly raped on her way to school

The girl was walking towards Steve Biko Park in Zone 3 when the armed unknown suspect approached her from behind and forced her to undress.

POLOKWANE – The police in Seshego have launched a manhunt for an unknown male suspect accused of raping a 16-year-old girl on Saturday morning (May 4).

Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said the girl resides in Letsokoane Section near Bloodriver and was on her way to school when an unknown male approached her.

“The girl was walking towards Steve Biko Park in Zone 3 when the unknown suspect approached her from behind, grabbed her and forcibly took her to the nearby bushes. The suspect allegedly pulled out a knife and ordered the teenager to undress and raped her,” he said.

Ledwaba added that the suspect fled the scene on foot and left the girl in the bushes.

The victim got assistance from a member of the community who took her to the Seshego Police Station where a case of rape was opened on their arrival.
