Seshego Police arrest a man for murder at Sengatane Village

The suspect was arrested on Saturday and will appear before Seshego Magistrate's Court today, May 13, 2024.

POLOKWANE: The Seshego Police Detectives have arrested a 28-year-old man in connection with a murder case that occurred at Sengatane village, on Saturday, May 11 at around 16:00.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba said that reports suggest the suspect stabbed the victim with a sharp instrument on his lower body, while he was with his girlfriend along the road at Sengatane village.

The suspect then fled the scene and the victim’s girlfriend went to the family and informed them of the stabbing. They rushed the victim to the local clinic, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The Police were summoned to the scene and opened a case of murder to trace and arrest the suspect.

“The suspect was arrested on Saturday at Sengatane village. He will appear before Seshego Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 13 May facing a charge of murder. Police investigations are ongoing.”

Mashaba said that the deceased’s identity is withheld for investigation purposes, and further investigations will determine the motive.
