Chef Dan Gee and his staff turned Basil’s restaurant into a glittering affair, with food that perfectly complimented the wines.

The Ranch Resort general manager, Paul Shearer thanked those who attended and always support these food and wine pairing evenings.

“We are grateful for the support, and it’s our privilege and honour to host you and bring something new to Polokwane.”

The Gewurtztraminer 2022 was served with a teriyaki glazed salmon, and the wild mushroom volute with a delicious Old Bush Vine Chenin Blanc. Each course took guests on a journey and the songs told the tale of Orpheus and the Raven.

Braised venison ravioli complimented the Eternal Eight, and the 42 Cape Blend, 56% Pinotage, 31% Pinot Noir and 13% Cinsaut, paired perfectly with the Harrisa spiced lamb loin.

Guests sat back, relaxed and enjoyed this first for Polokwane, talking about the wines, food, remembering the good old days and making new memories.
