Limpopo Kickboxing Academy hosts grading event

The Limpopo Kickboxing Academy's annual grading event puts students to the test, pushing physical, mental, and emotional limits to earn their next belt.

POLOKWANE – The Limpopo Kickboxing Academy (LPKA) hosted its annual belt grading event on Saturday, recognising and rewarding students for their dedication and hard work throughout the year.

Shihan Nico Myburgh (Sr) explained to Polokwane Observer that the gradings are rigorous tests designed to determine if students are ready to advance to the next rank.

“We believe that when something requires effort, dedication, and hard work, its value is significantly enhanced. The reward becomes more than just a token, it reflects all the hard work invested in achieving it. Our gradings are challenging because we test our students physically, mentally, and emotionally.”

He added that the LPKA coaches are committed to developing students in all three areas, not just in physical skill and fitness.

“We are incredibly proud of all our students for their progress within the club. We also extend our gratitude to the students’ parents for their unwavering support and involvement,” he added.

The results of the grading have not yet been finalised due to the challenging nature of some assessments.

“It has been a tough grading session, but we appreciate everyone’s patience as we finalise the results,” he remarked.
