Addicts Voice opens centre in Mokopane

The team aims to provide daily meals, create job opportunities, and implement a robust rehabilitation programme for struggling addicts.

MOKOPANE – Addicts Voice (Always Dedicated Descendants in Christ Testifying Salvation Victoriously Overcoming in Christ Eternally) has officially opened a centre in town on the grounds of Mokopane Noodforum, located in Thabo Mbeki Drive. This initiative is made possible through the support of Mokopane Noodforum, Touch of Helping Grace, and Hendriëtte Williams.

“We invite the community to help us restore the Noodforum to its former glory,” said Evette Kruger of Addicts Voice. The team aims to revive the vegetable garden, provide daily meals, create job opportunities, and implement a robust rehabilitation programme for those struggling with addiction.

The vegetable garden, which once provided food for many, is set to be revitalised.

Evette, who started her street ministry six years ago, founded Addicts Voice as a non-profit organisation, focused on making rehabilitation accessible for all. “Drug rehabilitation is very expensive, and sadly, nearly every family is affected in some way,” she explains.

Her mission is to work directly with active addicts living on the streets. “These individuals are often deeply broken and have been abandoned by their families. I give them food, talk with them, and build trust, so eventually, we can help them off the streets and onto a path where they can build a future.”

The centre is in its early stages, and the team is eager to get it fully operational. However, they need assistance from the public.

Items needed:

Chairs for interviews and programmes.

Shelving and hangers for donated clothing.

Kitchenware (pots, knives, spoons, plastic or polystyrene cups, and food containers).

Food supplies: coffee, sugar, milk, maize meal, rice, pasta, vegetables, chicken, minced meat, venison, and cooldrinks.

Evette encourages the public to contribute in other ways, including volunteering for manual labour in the vegetable garden, building showers and sorting clothes.
