Nzumbululo top matric in Limpopo

Nzumbululo Todani (18) from Mbilwi Secondary School earned Limpopo’s top learner title for 2024 with seven distinctions.

LIMPOPO – Nzumbululo Todani (18) from Mbilwi Secondary School in Sibasa has earned the prestigious title of Limpopo’s top learner for 2024.

Education MEC Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya made the announcement at a ceremony held at The Ranch Resort near Polokwane on January 14.

Todani’s exceptional performance includes seven distinctions – in mathematics, physical science, life sciences, geography, Tshivenda, life orientation, and English First Additional Language. Asked about the secret to his success, Todani credited his achievements to time management, discipline, hard work, and the grace of God.

“I would like to thank my parents, teachers, the school governing body, and everyone who supported me,” Todani said with gratitude. He believes that having role models in life is key to success. “They help you visualise where you want to be in the future.”

He plans to pursue mechatronics at the University of Cape Town this year. Todani’s mother, Avhasei Nndwamato, couldn’t be prouder of her son’s achievements. “He is the first in our family to achieve this, and we are so proud. He works so hard and is always dedicated to his studies, even helping other learners,” she said.

Todani also had words of encouragement for those who didn’t succeed. He advised them to stay focused, avoid distractions, and keep striving for success. “Cut down on parties and watching TV, especially if it’s not educational,” he said.
