Polokwane riders showcase skills at Western Mounted Games
Over 30 riders participated in Polokwane's Western Mounted Games training at Tembele Equestrian Centre, showcasing skills and fun for families.

POLOKWANE – From early Saturday morning, riders and their horses geared up for an exciting Western Mounted Games training and awareness day at the Tembele Equestrian Centre.
Families gathered for a fun-filled experience, with over 30 riders taking part.
The youngest participant, four-year-old Grethe Botha, bravely joined the event. She said, “I love to ride on the horse and am not scared of him. The best part is when we ride fast”.
While riders showcased their skills in the ring, families enjoyed the shade under the trees, and children had fun on balance boards.
Lisa Grossel, the owner of Tembele, highlighted the rapid growth of Western Mounted Games, describing it as one of the fastest-growing horse sports.
“It is a registered school sport, allowing children to earn full colours. Riders compete in 13 different games with qualifiers throughout the year, leading to nationals in September.
“It’s also an all-inclusive sport, welcoming physically and intellectually challenged riders.”
