Thohoyandou author (24) releases second book

Pfano Castro Masimbane unveils his second book, drawing from personal challenges to inspire and uplift readers.

LIMPOPO – At just 24 years old, award-winning author Pfano Castro Masimbane has released his second book, ‘Drowning in the Sea’. Hailing from Makonde village near Thohoyandou, Masimbane started writing in Gr 10, inspired by his grandmother.

His latest book delves into the challenges people face in life, offering insights on overcoming struggles.

Masimbane says that difficulties and obstacles serve as valuable lessons.

“You can only appreciate light after experiencing darkness.”

His motivation for writing the book stems from his personal battle with depression, illness, and fear after his father’s passing.

“On the outside, people thought I was fine, but inside, I was struggling. Writing this book was my way of expressing that experience and showing others that even in their darkest moments, there is hope.”

His writing journey has not been without challenges, but he believes vision and focus are key.

Through his books, he has inspired aspiring authors, entrepreneurs, and individuals seeking spiritual growth.

Writing Christian books has strengthened his faith, and he has had the opportunity to connect with pastors, doctors, and bishops who continue to shape his work.

For Masimbane, being an author is about making an impact.

“It’s a way to fulfil my purpose by spreading hope, encouragement, and wisdom.

“My goal is to build a library of Christian books that inspire both young and old, and to see my publishing company, Divine Uplift Publishing, become one of the best in the industry.”

His first book, ‘Rock of Prayer’, was published when he was just 19. Focused on the power of prayer, it answers questions about how, where, and why people should pray.
