Bruce Fordyce joins the Ivydale Parkrun

At 69, Bruce Fordyce's enthusiasm and energy were evident, inspiring fellow runners despite the rainy conditions.

POLOKWANE – Bruce Fordyce, the nine-time Comrades Marathon champion, recently participated in the Ivydale Parkrun at 534 Home of Padel, showcasing that age is no barrier to athletic excellence.

At 69, Fordyce’s enthusiasm and energy were evident, inspiring fellow runners despite the rainy conditions.

He remarked, “Why not? Even at 90 years old, when I can’t run anymore, I will volunteer at Park Run.”

Ivydale Parkrun welcomes participants every Saturday at 07:00 (October to March) and 08:00 (April to September) at 534 Home of Padel, 157 Orpen Road.
