PCS school driver and a passionate photographer

Tumelo Manti excels as a school driver while pursuing his passion for photography, capturing moments and thriving in his roles.

POLOKWANE – At 27, Tumelo Manti is a valued new member of the school team, where he serves as the PCS school driver, and assists with general tasks. Since joining, he has been welcomed with warmth and is thoroughly enjoying his role.

Working at a primary school has given Manti an appreciation for the sincerity of young learners. “We see them in different moments – when they are happy, sad, and as they grow before our eyes,” he said.

Despite the challenges of any job, he thrives under pressure and believes each challenge contributes to his personal growth. He said he values the importance of punctuality, respect, reliability, and a positive attitude in fulfilling his responsibilities.

As a driver, he is entrusted with the safety of both learners and teachers, making caution and attentiveness his top priorities.

“Before each trip, I conduct thorough vehicle checks, from tyres to indicators, to ensure everything is in working order. Regular checks keep the vehicle safe and reliable, giving me peace of mind on the road,” he said.

He also stressed the need for a clear and focused mindset while driving, as ensuring the safety of his passengers is paramount.

Beyond his role at the school, Manti is a freelance photographer and videographer on weekends, capturing weddings and sports events.

His passion for photography began in childhood, and in 2016, while still in high school, he started mowing lawns to save up for his first camera.

“I love photography. It is a beautiful art form that allows me to capture moments, express creativity, and preserve memories,” he concluded.
