Police seize heroin worth R50k in Polokwane drug bust

Police arrested three suspects in Polokwane after seizing heroin worth R50k and cash. The trio face drug-related charges and will appear in court on Monday.

POLOKWANE – The Polokwane police arrested three men for drug possession and dealing after intercepting a suspected vehicle in the CBD on Tuesday night (March 19).

According to police spokesperson Col Malesela Ledwaba, the Limpopo Provincial Flying Squad acted on intelligence received an identified a white sedan believed to be transporting and distributing drugs.

“The vehicle was stopped at the corner of Bok and Devenish streets at around 23:00. Upon searching the car, officers found heroin with an estimated street value of R50 000 and an undisclosed amount of cash suspected to be drug proceeds,” his statement read.

Ledwaba said the trio, aged between 28 and 32, were charged with possession and dealing in drugs.

“They are set to appear before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Monday (March 24) and police investigations are ongoing.”
