Mokopane community breathes new life into Herfsland’s garden

The effort brought beauty and vitality back to the Herfsland garden, much to the gratitude of the elderly residents.

POLOKWANE – Last Saturday, the ❤️ My Mokopane community came together to revitalise the Herfsland Garden, a home for about 40 elderly residents on Meintjies Street.

The garden, with its overgrown sidewalks and neglected spaces, received a much-needed makeover thanks to the dedicated volunteers who rolled up their sleeves to clean, tidy, and breathe new life into the surroundings.

Trucks full of garden rubbish were removed.

The effort brought beauty and vitality back to the garden, much to the gratitude of the elderly residents.

This transformation was made possible through the generosity of sponsors like Fred Cooper Sand and Klip, Dipro, DotAfri, Mogalakwena Complex and DA ward councillor Yolande Coetzee.

Thamsanqa Matshebelele, Keamogetswe Ngobeni and Ofentse Boroko help to clear the overgrown sidewalks.

A huge thank you goes out to all the volunteers and sponsors who contributed their energy, love, and time to this beautiful cause!

This is only the beginning!

❤️ My Mokopane is excited to announce their next community clean-up event on April 12 at Soetdoring.

Everyone, no matter their age, is invited to join between 07:00 and 10:00 for an hour or two of fun, teamwork, and community pride.
