Mankweng rehab centre offers hope through healing

Hope of Achievers Rehabilitation Centre offers holistic recovery support, helping people heal and rebuild their lives.

POLOKWANE – Hope of Achievers Rehabilitation Centre (HOARC) provides a safe and nurturing environment for individuals in recovery.

Founded in January by Watson Luandi, the centre was born out of his desire to positively impact the community in Mankweng.

“We realised the need for a safe and supportive space where individuals could heal, grow and overcome their struggles,” he said. The centre’s dedicated staff offers personalised care to each patient, focusing on a holistic approach to recovery.

Since its opening, the centre has admitted 27 patients between January and March. As a non-profit organisation, the centre, however, faces challenges due to limited resources and funding.

“We rely on donations and funding to continue our work. While we are grateful for the support we’ve received so far, more funding is needed to expand services and reach more individuals in need. Currently, patients’ monthly fees cover meals, staff salaries, and basic day-to-day expenses.”

In addition to financial constraints, Luandi faces the emotional challenges of working with individuals who have experienced trauma, as well as the need for specialised staff to address these complex needs.

Despite these obstacles, he finds fulfilment in witnessing the power of hope and healing. “It’s incredibly rewarding to see individuals regain their confidence, rebuild their lives, and discover a newfound sense of purpose,” he said.
