Collision causes delays near Peter Mokaba Stadium precinct

No serious injuries have been reported after a collision on Dorp Street near the Peter Mokaba Stadium.

POLOKWANE – A collision at the intersection of Dorp and Voortrekker streets is causing heavy traffic congestion, especially around the Peter Mokaba Stadium, where soccer fans have gathered for the Orlando Pirates, Polokwane City, TS Galaxy and Kaizer Chiefs matches.

The collision involved a hatchback and an SUV.

According to traffic officers on the scene, the SUV had the right of way and preliminary reports indicate the driver of the hatchback may have been at fault.

Although no serious injuries have been reported, the vehicles have not yet been cleared from the road, leading to significant traffic delays in the area.

Motorists are advised to use alternative routes where possible and exercise caution when driving near the stadium.
