Flora Park teacher turns accounting struggles into teaching success
Teacher Jack Mmola turns his past struggles with accounting into a driving force for teaching and helping learners succeed.
POLOKWANE – Jack Mmola, a 27-year-old commercial subjects teacher at Fora Park Comprehensive High School, draws inspiration from his own high school struggles with accounting.
“I found accounting challenging, and my teacher at the time wasn’t particularly effective,” he recalled. Determined to make a difference, he pursued a career in teaching, focusing on the subject that had once been difficult for him. His goal is to help learners facing similar challenges.
Passionate about education, Mmola values the opportunity to engage with his learners and learn from them. “By listening to their input, I gain a better understanding of their comprehension levels, which allows me to adapt my teaching methods accordingly.”
Teaching at Fora Park Comprehensive High School has played a significant role in his growth as a teacher. He praised the school’s supportive environment and collaborative atmosphere. “I believe I can achieve great things in my career while working at this school.”
To ensure a successful academic year, Mmola prioritises effective communication with his learners. He also believes in the importance of regular classwork and homework. “Practice helps reinforce understanding and clarify complex concepts,” he concluded.
