Kruinies enjoy Tent Town sleep-out

Gr 4–7 learners celebrated the end of term with a fun-filled Tent Town sleep-out featuring races, games, and camping fun.

POLOKWANE – Gr 4-7 learners of Curro Heuwelkruin could not contain their excitement when they prepared for the annual Tent Town Sleep-out that was hosted on the school premises last Thursday evening, as it also marked the last day of school for this term.

Parents and friends assisted with the posting of the colourful tents and decorating the camp sites to create an atmosphere of celebration and having fun.

According to Curro Heuwelkruin spokesperson, Nelmari Herbst, the campers had a full programme after the tents were pitched.

There were bag races and potato races as well as ping pong and a three-legged race.

The campers still had energy to test their skills at ‘Fill the bucket’ and the water balloon toss after they participated in the flour race and ‘Put the straw in the bottle’.

Teachers were present throughout the event and ensured that everyone retired to their beds at lights-out.

“There was no school for the campers on Friday and they were collected early in the morning. We look forward to their return on April 8 to start the second term with zest and energy,” Herbst said.
