Colour run and toiletry drive uplift Seshego community
TNF hosted a vibrant toiletry drive at Seshego Stadium, collecting essentials for local families through a colour run, sport and community fun.
POLOKWANE – The Tshepo Nkwe Foundation (TNF) turned up the fun and community spirit at Seshego Stadium on April 5 with its ‘Love the Younger You’ toiletry drive.
The day was packed with energy, starting off with a colour run, some upbeat aerobics, and soccer games that got everyone moving.
Instead of a ticket, entry was a donation of toiletries, which will now go to families, learners and students who need them most.
The drive was started by Mamoloko Machaka, a TNF member who saw the need to support needy individuals with essentials such as soap and sanitary pads.
“This is about giving what we didn’t always have growing up. It’s about seeing yourself in the kids in the community and helping in the way you once wished someone had helped you.”
The event saw a great turnout, with visitors even from Botswana who added their donations.
The items collected will be handed over to families facing tough times, and the sanitary pads will go to Masesha Primary School.
TNF, founded by Tshepo Nkwe, focuses on helping children through education and household support, while also giving young people the chance to express themselves and grow through sport and the arts.
Mamoloko added that one of their biggest challenges is not being able to reach as many people as they’d like, simply because of limited sponsorships and donations.
