MOKOPANE – The EFF is mourning the passing of one of their most dedicated members, Selaelo Regina (Winnie) Mphahlele, a Member of the Provincial Legislature.
Mphahlele was laid to rest on April 26, with a dignified funeral service held at the Church of the First Born in Mahwelereng.
The service was attended by high-profile leaders including EFF president Julius Malema, deputy president Godrich
Gardee, the Deputy Minister of Land Reform and Rural Development Stan Mathabatha, the Premier, Dr Phophi Ramathuba, speaker of the Provincial Legislature Makoma Makhurupetje, MEC for Treasury Kgabo Mahoai, and EFF Limpopo chairperson Lawrence Mapoulo.
Mphahlele was fondly remembered by her family as a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend.
“She was a hardworking civil servant and a pillar of strength to many,” they said.
Her life, they added, was defined by her commitment to justice, dignity, and quality service delivery.
Fellow EFF members praised her as a fearless advocate for economic justice and a passionate champion for the poor and marginalised. Her revolutionary spirit was grounded in humility, discipline, and steadfast loyalty to the party and its principles.
