Polokwane designer styles Miss Teen International
Designer Yuricah Daties creates eight stunning gowns for Miss Teen Model International, showcasing local talent on a global stage.
POLOKWANE – Yuricah Daties, a 34-year-old self-taught fashion designer, made her mark on the global stage by designing eight show-stopping dresses for Miss Teen Model International 2025, Pearl Mathebula, who recently competed in Peru.
With only two weeks to complete the gowns, including a protea-inspired national dress, Daties worked tirelessly, proud to see her creations celebrated internationally. “It was hectic, I wasn’t sleeping, but I feel proud and honoured,” she said.
What began as childhood play designing doll clothes turned into a calling Daties couldn’t ignore, even after studying B.Com human resources at the University of Limpopo. After graduation, she pursued fashion full-time, shadowed a mentor, and eventually launched Beulah’s Boutique – named by her husband and rooted in faith.
A decade into her business, she now dreams of expanding online, opening a fashion school, and creating a rental space for models. “At first my family didn’t understand, but now they see my dream is real.”
