Police recover R150k in Crystal Meth during Penina Park drug bust

A police intelligence operation in Polokwane led to the arrest of two suspects in Penina Park and the recovery of R150k worth of Crystal Meth.

POLOKWANE – A police intelligence operation has led to the arrest of two male suspects and the seizure of R150 000 worth of Crystal Meth.

According to the Limpopo police, the 34-year-old suspects were nabbed at a filling station in Penina Park on Saturday morning (September 6) at around 07:30.

The police spokesperson Col Malesela Ledwaba said the Provincial Organised Crime Unit received a tip-off about two men who intended to deliver illicit drugs at the filling station.

“Officers immediately launched a manhunt in the area and positively identified the suspects’ vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, police discovered a maroon bag concealed under the driver’s seat. The bag contained 13 transparent packets of Crystal Meth,” he said.

The suspects were immediately arrested and are expected to appear before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court tomorrow (September 8) on charges of dealing in and possession of drugs.
