R130k fraud lands former Polokwane bank worker in court

Ex-bank employee Rachel Tsakani Bloko appears in Polokwane court for allegedly defrauding clients of R130k using personal details.

POLOKWANE – Rachel Tsakani Bloko (38), a former bank employee in Polokwane, appeared in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on today, September 23, facing charges of fraud involving R130 000.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba says Bloko is accused of unlawfully using the personal details of bank clients to secure personal loans for herself.

The victims only discovered the loans after being notified by the bank of unpaid accounts.

Following a warrant of arrest, she was taken into custody on Monday, September 22. The case was investigated by the Provincial Commercial Crime Investigation Unit.

Bloko was granted bail of R5 000, and the matter was postponed to October 24 for further investigation.
