Limpopo soap maker bubbles to success
A Limpopo detergent brand is washing away limits and scrubbing into the market while empowering communities with local production.
LIMPOPO – In the rural village of Lwamondo Tshivhale, an ambitious entrepreneur is proving that determination can grow from community level into something much bigger.
Arafat Fhedzisani Netshivhale, the founder of Liberated DishWasher, has built a detergent brand that is winning over customers quickly. His locally made dishwashing liquid, pine gel and bleach are already supplying households with trusted cleaning essentials.
Netshivhale said the business was born from the vision to give people access to effective cleaning products without the hefty price tag.
“Our mission is simple: to make cleaning a more enjoyable and sustainable experience for South Africans. We want families to feel confident knowing the products they use are safe, effective and environmentally conscious,” he said.
The idea was inspired by ELF SA’s philosophy of producing what you consume. “I realised that every community uses dishwashing soap. Instead of depending on outside producers, we as communities can manufacture our own products and build an economy from within. That was the starting point,” he said.
His dream is to create jobs and expand nationwide. “Since every community uses dishwashing soap, we want every community in South Africa to understand that producing what we consume is the way forward. The inspiration came from ELF SA president, Hulisani Mani, whose leadership encourages us to use our buying power and create opportunities for ourselves,” he told CV.
Netshivhale believes that each purchase is a step toward empowerment. “In five years, I see this brand in every household across South Africa, employing many people and proving that local production is possible,” he concluded.
