Man arrested with R12k worth of heroin at Indian Centre in Polokwane

A man (43) will appear in the Polokwane Magistrate's Court today after being caught selling heroin at the Indian Centre in the CBD.

POLOKWANE – A 43-year-old man is expected to appear before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court today (October 7) after his arrest for the possession and dealing of drugs valued at approximately R12 000.

The Limpopo police said the arrest was carried out by members of the Provincial Organised Crime Investigation Unit on Monday morning (October 6).

Police spokesperson Col Malesla Ledwaba said officers acted on a tip-off of a man allegedly selling drugs at the Polokwane Indian Centre.

“Upon arrival, police identified a suspect matching the description and apprehended him. A search led to the discovery of a plastic bag containing eight packets of heroin and an undisclosed amount of cash believed to be proceeds from drug sales,” his statement read.

Ledwaba added that police investigations continue.
