A 90-year-old Rabali woman is recovering after being stabbed in the head by two assailants during a house robbery.

LIMPOPO – A 90-year-old woman from Rabali is hospitalised after she was attacked and stabbed by two unknown men during a house robbery in the early hours of October 26.
The men broke into her home, stabbed her in the head, and stole her television, cellphone, speakers, and money before leaving her unconscious and hiding under a couch.
Ninety-year-old fights for survival
“I knew they wanted to kill me.”
The pensioner, who asked not to be named for safety reasons, said she was at home alone when she heard heavy footsteps outside.
“They knocked softly, and when I asked who it was, they didn’t respond. Instead, they went to the back and switched off the main power before forcing the door open,” she recalled.
“They came straight at me as I sat on my bed. I knew they wanted to kill me. I prayed for strength and fought back, but one of them stabbed me in the head. After that, I don’t remember much as I woke up in a hospital bed.”
Her grandson, Rudzani Muthelo, said he returned home around 03:00 and noticed the garage door was open.
“When I entered, I saw blood on the floor and found my grandmother hiding under the couch. I called the police, emergency services, and our neighbours. We are still living in fear that they might come back.”
Community calls for justice
Local community leader Lotta Rabali condemned the attack.
“We cannot tolerate our communities living in constant fear.”
“We must work hand in hand with the police to restore peace and safety.”
Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Vuledzani Dathi confirmed that a case of attempted murder and house robbery has been opened. He appealed to anyone with information to contact the police.
